The Night Swimmer

The Night Swimmer

Familiar with the waters

the night swimmer moves

with powerful, confidant strokes

to the deep.

Treading

over tropical depths,

arching, then slicing

through still clear waters.

Cascading bubbles move

upward,

a pilgrim on a coral reef,

immersed,

rhythmic swaying

ebb and flow.

Moonlight reflecting

on gentle ocean swells.

Life abundant, pure,

flourishing in a

communion of nautical tranquility.

With decisive precision

moving always to the distant light,

home with clarity,

direction, and reason.

The night swimmer is

shielded against the Predator.

Reaching shore,

hushed breezes, waves caress his skin

on white warm sand.

Home and safe once more.
