a certain age
now I brace my foot
against the bed as
an assist to get
my sock
on each morning,
everything aches for
no specific reason
just because
I turned a certain
age,
what’s in a number?
it’s attitude I’m told,
my heart, a motely
crew of other dissident
internal organs and
most muscles seem
to mock that strange
advice.

You said "motley crew". Could I suggest a fix for your lamenting? At the beginning of each day listen to Motley Crue's 1989 classic Kickstart my Heart. Go on, google it now. Those internal organs will thank you.
