Recently I viewed the Joe rogan interview with Pollievre out of curiosity just to determine what insights were revelaed and what topics may have ben covered. I don’t usually watch this program and found the interview quite benign, just two buddies talking over a beer, very blue collar. I gained great insights into weight lifting, wrestling and food additives as these two dealt with the issues of the world. I think Pollievre’s purpose was to show himself as a man of the people and that he could hold his own with the mighty Rogan. They touched on old politics in that they dealt with the liberal world of Trudeau, the so-called authoritarianism during covid and the harsh treatment dealt against the truckers strike in Ottawa. It seems in Rogan’s mind Canada had become a lesser place even though he seems to have a high regard for Canadians but not liberals. I now know that Pollievre believes in freedom from government as he is a Rogan type republican. He is opposed to food dyes and addives, supports the storage of maple syrup reserves and if he were prime minister would do the same for oil. He wants the tariffs removed because he would cozy up to America as soon as possible. I did look up his voting record in parliament and this man of the people has never supported any major initiative that would, across the board, improve the Canadian social net, not student food programs or public dental policies. He and his party are for less government as to he and Rogan that is just common sense. Other than that there was no substance to the interview just two buddies sharing talk and bashing liberals when possible. I have to say I would enjoy a talk between Carney and Rogan. I believe Rogan to be an intelligent man with a broad band of knowledge, but no match for Carney should they actually talk politics and not wrestling and food additives.
